best type of energy detector for laser light

what is the best type of photodetector for collecting laser energy from a transmitting laser?
Does it depend on the wavelength? No modulation involved. Resposivity, sensitivity are important parameters, right?
I know there are many types of detectors...
thanks,

It's called an LPM, that's it. Google it and find some good ones like laserbees.
If you want your lasers power tested, PM me
If you need any help with your order, Email support@wickedlasers.com

So for AF applications, I'd still go for a small audio amplifier and a solar cell,

I'm not perfect by any means. But you coming back here and breaking the rules to be here shows extreme immaturity. I was IP banned at one time, you know what I did? I made another account ONLY to PM JT and T and find out what was goin on. I did not post. I did not contact anyone else. I asked what I did, I apologized. My bannishment was lifted. To function here you need to act like an adult, take responsibility for your actions, and accept the consequences.

Also, with all do respect, stop calling it an IP ban like it is a worse punishment. Like I said before, it is now standard (or at least was, when this forum was really moderated) to but an IP ban permanently if it was a ban or temporarily if it was a suspension. Normally when we ban a user we didn't have to worry about them not finding out because we literally physically must let the user know, IP Board makes us. We have options of email and PM, obviously we choose email as they are banned, but the email system wasn't working, it started working when we all got those tons of emails. Now it's not a problem. But back to what I was saying, we give them an IP ban so that they don't create another account and start posting, like someone we know...
Also, if you guys are wondering what ever happened to laserchick, HE lived in Texas first of all and had a previous account which he stopped using and created this new "laserchick" account. I sent him several PM's asking him what's up with this and gave it time because it still said it was not yet read. When he finally did read them he was making posts, looking at other PM's, he then looked at mine and quickly went offline without responding, so I pulled the trigger.
I also was so careful about people not coming back that every time a new member showed up I searched their IP in the admin CP with the option that tells you everything about that IP. (member wise) to see if it is a previous member. I spent a lot of time making this forum as good as I could get it. That hasn't been acknowledged slightly since July though.

Finding your lack of authority most inconvenient? How many many of you dose it take to bully one 12 year old. If Joe N wanted him gone, LP would be gone.

Joe hasn't enforced any rule really, it's slightly embarrassing. Honestly I hve lost a little respect.
