Ya, but I wouldn't recomend it at all. I have done it with a 32mw laser I bought a few years ago and once you break the seal you pretty much expose the internal circuitry to moisture, debris etc... Not to mention it shortens the life of the diode and there is a big chance you may end up with a nonfunctional laser if you don't do it properly. If you really feel the need to tinker with pot moding I suggest getting one of those cheaper pointers that are pretty much available anywhere and watch the pot mod video ( look it up on youtube) and then you will see that taking a high quality laser apart to try to increase power isn't worth it

Since you say plausible, not possible, it's not very plausible no.
I own 28 lasers, including a WL ARCTIC, KRYPTON 1W, and 473nm Spyder 3 Limited Edition WOOOT!!!
If you want your lasers power tested, PM me
If you need any help with your order, Email support@wickedlasers.com

Correct, Although when I have a laser diode module suitable for the CORE's host I need some info on how to dissassemble it. I do not have a vice.
